Root Canal Therapy

Root Canal therapy (RCT) is a procedure used to save teeth that would otherwise be lost to injury or disease. The procedure involves removing the nerve of the tooth, disinfecting and filling the root canal. It generally takes multiple visits to complete, and at each visit it is necessary to take x-rays to check treatment progress.

After root canal treatment is complete, a permanent filling is placed; however it is strongly recommended that a crown be placed over such a tooth to provide a good seal and adequate strength.
